Explosive Meetings [09 Jun 2008|06:45pm]
Who: Sparky and open to all
When: Night
Where: the mall
What: Trying to signal survivors.

It was a dark night in Chicago, partly overcast with a slight breeze from the west. Perfect fireworks weather Sparky thought to himself as he walked across the roof of the mall. Their little group had discovered the fireworks and decided to use them to possibly signal other survivors in the city, overruling Sparky’s choice of the looping Macarena song on the radio. Now armed with a PVC tube as a makeshift launcher Sparky got to work setting everything up and was ready to go a short time later.

“If only I had more time, I could time the explosions with music and put on an awesome show and have like laser beams and stuff. Aw well, maybe next time. Now which one should I use,” Sparky wondered as he perused the fireworks of varying size. “Oh! This one looks good”

Selecting the largest one Sparky slid it into the launch tube and quickly lit the fuse. “This is going to be so cool.” Practically hopping form foot to foot Sparky waited impatiently for the firework to launch. And waited, and waited. “What the hell, is it a dud?” Of course right when Sparky leaned towards the tube there was a burst of light and a loud thud as the firework launched and missed his head by inches. Moments later there was a burst of bright green light in the air followed by a loud bang. Blinded by the initial launch, and with his hair smoking, Sparky looked up at the sky as he laid on his back. “Dammit! I missed it. Oh well, just have to fire off another I guess. I wonder what would happen if I packed two into the same tube.”
