Meanwhile, many miles away in Kalamazoo, Marco landed his plane at his make-shift home, directed Aiden to a spot where he could avoid Marco for a while so there wouldn't be any power absorption. And then, Marco stopped to think. He'd found one person already. What were the chances of him finding anyone else?
"I don't think I can afford to use any more fuel today." Marco said to himself as he walked down the main path of the museum. He considered his options as his music played over the loudspeaker, and Marco tried not to pay too much attention to The Who.
And then, the loudspeaker out an idea into his head. Soon, Marco had left a note and then walked out of the museum, heading across town.
Along the way, Marco stopped and found some kid's abandoned Razor Scooter. Marco remembered really wanting one when he was young... Well, now he had this one. The kid who it belonged to wasn't using it anyway.
With the aid of the scooter and a well-placed wind, Marco was off, and made great time over to one of the local radio stations. He packed up the scooter and headed into the station. He didn't even think of the fact that he didn't know how the hell to work the broadcasting... thing. It couldn't be too different from a loudspeaker, could it?
He hit a few buttons. Watched, waiting for lights to light up, or some sort of indication it was working. He'd turned on the generators for that building, so that wasn't it... "God damn it- Oh. Oh!!" after a number of combinations, Marco was suddenly aware that he was on the air."
"Okay, okay, umm... Let's see if I can record and repeat this or something... Wait, I think... I think I've got this. Hello! To any survivors out there who may be hearing this... You know, assuming you have a radio... that works... Shit, what am I doing? No, okay, okay. If you're hearing this, as of..." He checked the date, mentioned it, and continued. " As of now, there are two survivors staying in the Kalamazoo Air Zoo. If you can make your way to Kalamazoo, we'll be waiting in the museum. If you can't... Try and get a message to us. I... We... have access to air travel. We may be able to find you." He then included the phone number of the museum, and the radio station, neither of which he think would work, and how often he would go back to the broadcast tower, in case someone tried there.
It took him a few tries, but he managed to put it on a loop, and attempted to keep it broadcasting.
Then he put a chair through all the vending machines and packed his bag full of supplies.
