Links Impending Darkness Character List and PB's Rules OOC Application FAQ | It's the year 1997, and Harry Potter, along with his inseparable friends, Ronald Weasley and Hermione Granger, are in their seventh year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The Potter family is still intact, as is the Weasley and the Granger, and none of them have had the name 'Lord Voldemort' ever stain their ears. Yet. Tensions in the wizarding world are on the rise, and people are slowly disappearing, never to be seen again. But this isn't really all that strange, is it? Not since only a few have disappeared, after all. It could have been an unexpected invite to the countryside. Or perhaps they left on their own accord? Prestigious families... The Malfoys, the Carrows, the Blacks, the Lestranges, have all been acting strangely, almost secretive these past few months. Some whisper that a Dark Lord is rising, and that he plans to rid the world of its filth and impurities. But something of that magnitude is simply preposterous. A dark wizard? This is reality, not some story told out of a children book. There hasn't been a serious dark wizard in ages, let alone one that has ever been successful. ...Right? The peace that existed amongst wizards will soon be shattered, along with their hopes of security and protection, as shadows are cast over their world. Chaos and tragedy may lurk in the wake of their every footstep as a dark wizard is certainly on the rise. This time the world will not rest upon the shoulders of a mere eleven-year-old boy... Which side will you be on? The rising darkness, or the resistance? Choose wisely; only one will win. Rising Darkness is Non-Canon RPG, that opened March 1st! Note: This RPG is being held on the private site Dreamwidth. If your application is accepted, you will be sent a code to make your character journal, you do not have to have a code beforehand just to apply! After that, you can request as many codes as you like from the site. In 2016, for the third time in recorded history, an unknown and deadly virus swept through the Wizarding communities of Britain and Ireland, affecting only those with magical blood. Hogwarts School was closed after the deaths of nine students and staff members, public places were shut down, large gatherings were forbidden, and witches and wizards lived in dread of any signs of the virus within their households. No cause was found, no cure was discovered, and nearly half of all cases of the disease resulted in death. The year is now 2023, and after two years of no reported cases of the virus, the Ministry has decided to re-open Hogwarts' doors to the first classes of students in six years. The children of the Second Wizarding War's heroes will experience life at the most famous school of magic in Britain for the first time. From Arithmancy to Astronomy, Charms to Quidditch, students will have a lot of catching-up to do during a special summer term before the regular school year starts in September. The threat of the virus is finally over, witches and wizards are breathing easier, and everything is back to normal. Isn't it? Game opens Monday, April 18, 2011 |
