What if Voldemort had never marked Harry Potter as his equal? What if a long and drawn out war had ensued, with a less than glorious ending? What if the Order of the Phoenix had ultimately failed? The year is 1998. It has been 10 years since the Dark Lord overthrew the Order of the Phoenix and the Ministry of Magic, securing his hold on the wizarding world. Those who stood against him must remain underground or in hiding for fear of persecution; those who fought alongside him have been generously rewarded and hold positions of power in the world as it now stands. Death Eaters comb the streets, murdering innocent people for sport. All muggle-born and half-blood witches and wizards are forced to be placed on a registry, no longer allowed to attend Hogwarts and limited in their magical ability. Werewolves and other dark creatures have met a similar fate, treated as second rate citizens and largely unwelcome in places where the more ‘well to do’ members of society dwell. The Ministry of Magic rules all, and Azkaban is the ultimate punishment for even the most minor of crimes. Though they lost the first war, the Order of the Phoenix has not given up. They remain an organized society of people who work tirelessly to finally overthrow the Dark Lord and his purest ways. | |

It is August 20, 1998. The dark lord has been destroyed by Harry Potter and the wizarding world rejoiced. The end of the war brought change to the wizarding world, mostly for the better. People, especially muggle borns, no longer live in fear. The ministry has been thoroughly cleaned and is up and running, making themselves ready for elections in the spring.
The death eaters have been rounded up and some sent to prison but others who claimed to be Imperiused or coerced into service have been released with a pardon and a show of goodwill towards all men. Rodolphus Lestrange at the loss of his wife, claimed the imperius curse and is now working to serve the ministry to prove what he can do for society. He stepped into the political arena speaking for the unity of the wizarding world and has become quite popular with his show of intellect and concern for its well-being. Things are not always as they seem. Now that he has won the title of Minister of Magic, changes are coming.
After the final battle of Hogwarts, many parents complained to the Ministry Department of Education. Their children did not graduate, nor did they complete exams or get a proper education. There was talk of boycotting the school, forcing it to close. The ministry, and new headmistress, Minerva McGonagal, came up with a plan. They would offer an 8th year to those who should have finished to see that they could get a proper year of schooling and complete everything they needed to. They would have extra liberties as they would be of age as well. Most parents responded favorably and have agreed to send their children to finish the year properly. For those who could not attend, it is also their chance to make up for what they had lost, welcomed back with open arms and an apology from the school and the ministry.
Everything seems to be going well, but good and evil do go hand in hand and there are forces at work both at Hogwarts and in the Ministry as the dark side tries to reclaim power over the wizarding world. It is often difficult to see who is on what side, but the dark lord's fellowship is alive and well, building up enough momentum until they can rise again.

| Welcome to your seventh year at Hogwarts! A seventh year filled with mystery, wonder and new and fantastic beasts. Where you spend your time working frantically towards getting the best N.E.W.T marks you can, or working towards that one last Quidditch trophy before it's off into the real world. A real world filled with the daily trivial events, bills, friends, laundry, cooking and cleaning the dishes. All of which are important for a young Wizard to know. Which is why ten years ago Headmaster Dohotty implemented a new class that would be held for the seventh year class during the second half of summer vacation. The first few years the class was an option for all students but it wasn't until 2024 that the class finally became a requirement for all seventh year students. All students will end their post-sixth year summer break early to return to school to take the class. Most of you won't be happy, but it's another month and a half spent with your best friends at school, with minimal teachers there, and no under classmen to watch over you. Hopefully you won't be getting into too much trouble? |

War is, inevitably, upon those of us in the Wizarding World. Having only just admitted to the fact that He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named has returned: the Ministry of Magic has been going through much change. Rufus Scrimegeour is the new Minister and many can breathe easy as he seems to be a man of action. But, what can one do when the world is full of fear, and one can trust even their own shadow? The Ministry are arresting people, but they're the wrong people...and everything just seems terrifying! However even in these trying times there is hope, and happiness. One simply has to live. Many parents are terrified for their children and fear sending them away to school. Dumbledore has been coming and going since the attack in the Ministry and no one truly knows if they're safe or not anymore...even at Hogwarts, and sides are being taken. This is Obscuritas, a 6th year trio game based on the events of Harry Potter and the Halfblood Prince. spliffy: harry potter, next generation Under the warm sunshine, another summer is coming to a close and there are students eagerly (or not so eagerly) returning to Hogwarts; the girls are loitering, the boys are ogling, and the gossip is lingering, as is always the case in a group of teenagers. Love faces off with sex, grades face off with parties, and truth faces off with falsities in the everyday drama at Hogwarts. However, since the Battle of Hogwarts, the Ministry of Magic has been slowly working on new protective measures to prevent such an event from ever threatening Great Britain's schools again. As years have passed, new restrictive spells have been cast on the grounds of Hogwarts. At the beginning of this school year, under the decree of Kingsley Shacklebolt, a radically developed charm will be cast over the entire grounds as a means to prevent the approach of evil spirits of any sort. Unbeknownst to the returning students and staff, however, this spell has a glaring flaw which has not yet been revealed; it cuts off all contact with the outside world. As students and teachers are separated from their parents, their families and the rest of Great Britain, what will they do to cope? Can they band together in support, or will they attack one another in bouts of cabin fever? Though all faculty members are hard at work to find a counter-spell, it may not come fast enough to save some friendships, relationships, or even lives. Oh, and there's spliff. |
