HpFanart Webspace?
Oookay. I have an idea I'd like to throw out here and see what kind of response I get - I own webspace (artisticentropy.com) and in the past, for other fandoms, I've hosted image galleries as subdomains with member upload/submit capabilities similar to fanfiction.net or any efiction powered site, only with art instead of fic. For these types of things, i like to use the gallery script coppermine (which you can check out here: http://coppermine-gallery.net/ - if you're interested in seeing how it would work.) I used to use this script for my personal gallery, but it doesn't integrate into my fancy joomla layout anymore so I switched, but it is very functional and easy to use. ;)
Membership would be moderated and limited to people who are a member of this comm, and I'd ask that you not direct link to the images anywhere except in your posts on IJ because bandwidth=expensive, but it could exist as a gallery for our work, as well as a hosting place for all of you who don't have access to LJ's scrapbook for your images anymore. Posting images there would NOT be required - just allowed should you need the space and albums can be created and password protected/limited to certain users with that system for adult artwork. It also has optional rating/commenting features on-site.
Does this sound like something you'd be interested in? It's a lot of work for me, and mod-ing one of those/keeping up with the script gets time consuming - not to mention that it may be expensive to run down the line if we get a lot of users. If it happens that this starts using up more bandwidth/space than I currently pay for, I'd have to ask for donations or cease to offer the service - I can't afford to put money into the project, unfortunately. There's currently a lot more space and bandwidth there than I ever use in a month, so it shouldn't be an issue for a while, if ever, but I thought I'd be upfront about it.
Please to be letting me know what you think. :) I'd like to get some discussion going on the issue.
Thanks!
