So I'm out. So I caved. Do you know what it's like, to see nobody but guards and maybe your family, day in and day out? I thought it was worth it, thought I was bringing attention... but here I am, looking through this bloody journal at everything since I went in, and barely anybody even talked about it, or me, so what the bloody hell was my sacrifice for? Are we going to just be stuck and at the mercy of a DMLE that cares more about jailing someone for handing in evidence than finding a killer?

I don't think I want to live in the wizarding world anymore.

[Written later...]

Oh, and it's interesting what we can learn when locked up, with people coming in and out of cells nearby. You know the Minister? The one the DMLE wanted me to give a piece of evidence to instead of giving it to them. Well it seems his wife smuggled a man out of the country, someone by the name of Khadgar Fiorvante, and sent to Cuba - must be nice to have that sort of privilege, right? Send a man out of the country in secret? Well to make things interesting, the man the Minister's wife smuggled is apparently telling everyone who'll listen that Altair Addison was trying to kill his family.

So what sort of relationship does the Minister and his wife have with this man? Why did they smuggle him out, and if they did so because they feared Addison, why didn't they alert the DMLE? Or did they decide to take matters into their own hand - or did Fiorvante do the deed himself or pay someone to do it, and the Minister and his wife are protecting him for it?

But then maybe the Minister's seen the same DMLE that I have and doesn't trust it to bring real justice.

Sarah,

In light of the Justin's troubles, I thought that you and his solicitors ought to know that two of the people in the Ministry that night have been arrested before: Seamus Finnigan and Bill Weasley. I don't have any other details, but maybe this could help Justin.

Susan,

I overheard something at the bank today. Something that could help Justin. I already let his sister know, but perhaps I ought to go public. What do you think?

I'm not sure that these sort of discussions will ever really stop, and in a way, I'm pleased. Not because there aren't other thing stop talk about, but until the murderer is caught, I hope and am sure, the matter should be handled with the utmost urgency and that includes discussions. Mind you, some of the rumours can be a bit silly, to say the least, and others seem silly but aren't. I suppose I shouldn't say but it seems to be the only thing anyone's discussing today as there were illegal Muggle drugs found in Addison's department. I couldn't quite believe it, who would bring those in to work, but I know a few ladies who work in the department he was responsible for, and it's quite true. Though as is the nature of these things by lunch I was told by someone in Maintenance that people had been seen taking nothing that resembled the original discovery.

Ernie I'm sorry if I

I had hoped there would be further information by now, but I suppose it's for the best that the Ministry doesn't publish the causes of death and known information. I imagine it helps in the investigation. Still it Though I can't really say I'm familiar with the process, nor I have I read many mystery/crime thrillers.

Things are starting to be more norm

Outside of that, work is going well. I've been working on a few urgent cases and am hoping to finish a few things this weekend to get ahead of next week's load. I don't really have anything else to talk ab

I suppose I should be glad I was out on assignment, but in truth I'm more concerned that it happened at all. I can't say I knew Addison well, which isn't all that surprising given the size of the Ministry, but the loss of a colleague and surely a good man is still hard-felt.

I also think it's really rather surprising that the Daily Prophet should publish a list of suspects. Surely it would be best to wait until it's been narrowed down. Doing it in this manner only pushes public suspicion on innocent people, and like it or not the all but possibly one are likely to be innocent. I had hoped the days of this sort of journalism was well and truly over.

That said, I this doesn't take long because I have quite a fair bit of paperwork to do and at the moment it's locked in my office where it really isn't going to do itself.
