It is a surprise to me that many continue to talk about the Addison murder. Do not misunderstand, I too continue to hope his murderer is uncovered, and I am glad we are no longer so burdened with war that we cannot afford such time and care into this unfortunate incident. But he seems to have no strong ties to those discussing the events. Is it simply that so many of us continue to be suspects without just cause or motivation, and we are eager for any evidence to exonerate ourselves? Or do others truly care what happened to a man who, on all accounts, seemed so unlikeable?

It has been an exceptionally trying week, with Bill busy with work and I left to deal with the two terrors that are my beloved daughters.

While I understand the need for justice, I cannot help but wonder if the secrets coming to light in the wake of Monsieur Addison's death are not a deep invasion of privacy, or at the very least, evidence of a leak within the investigation. It is clear discretion is not a word the DMLE understands.

Everyone has been talking about prejudice lately - whether it’s about assuming that once a hero always a hero or the opposite - once a criminal, always a criminal. I don’t find myself particularly interested in either conversation because anyone can be tempted to do anything at any time. I don’t believe people are inherently good. A more interesting theory that I heard today that the only reason the DMLE has kept Fleur on the suspects list is because she’s a veela.

As much as I had hoped it would not, it seems Victoire's influence has begun to spread to Dominique. My darling angel has now begun to liberally use the word 'no', and I fear what I shall do if I have been given two daughters who care nothing for their mother's rules.

It is a terrible tragedy, what has happened at the Ministry. My thoughts are with the family of the victim.

I understand the clamour for information, but to print a list of names for the public to know seems dangerous and unhelpful to the investigation, n'est-ce pas? A man has already died. What is the point of causing grief in the lives of potential witnesses?

My husband and I were at the Ministry, yes, but we had nothing to do with the death of this man, who was a stranger to me. That is the only statement I will make to the public, and it is only because I fear the danger a witch hunt for the killer may bring to my daughters that I make it at all. I have the utmost faith the investigators will discover the true killer and bring them to justice without the panic of the public to spur them on.
