My parents are tired of owning their home, they've said, and have been talking about downsizing into a flat. This of course is just this side of traumatic, since that's the house I grew up in, and I just can't quite imagine not coming home to it for family dinners and holidays.
Still, it's not my decision to make, and so I've been going through old boxes of my things from the attic. What started out as a logical exercise in what to keep and what to get rid of has turned into an hour or two a day of hard work and then getting lost in an old book or, don't judge, playing with an old toy.
Best to soak up as many childhood memories of the house before it belongs to someone else, right?
It's all been great for getting my mind off everything else.

Dominique has discovered the word why. It would be harmless fun if Victoire had not joined in and begun to ask questions she should not be asking for many years. Dominique is aware of when enough is enough, but the curious Victoire will go on forever.

It is the weekend again, and I, for one, am looking forward to exploring far away places in the comfort of my own home. It is not as though I had travel plans in the works. So it isn't putting me out. I prefer to wait until autumn to travel to an Indian spring. But I would not travel there during England winters because Indian summers are far less mild than ours.
