You know, I don't want to tell anyone how to do their job, but a small dose of veritserum, a couple control questions and then the big one: "Did you kill Altair Addison?" and this whole mess would be done with and I could be on my way to Brazil for the Pegasus Classic next week. Who do I talk to about recompense for lost winnings?

Tomorrow is my day off and Duw I'm glad of it. I mean I like my job and all, but this past week since you-know-what everything's been a proper mess. Hope this whole thing is cleaned up now soon so we can all get back to life as normal. My da's been right nervous, too. Reckon he imagines a murderer lurking in every shadow at the Ministry and reckons I'm next, but I told him that's a lot of nonsense. Right? I'm awfully sorry for the gentleman and his family, though. It's an awful thing, it is.
Anyhow, I'm off to my da's in the morning for a full breakfast with bacon and eggs and cockles and laverbread. We used to do it on Sundays, but now I'm on call with the squad most weekends we do a Sunday breakfast any day of the week I have off. He's a good cook, my da is. He does the best full breakfast there is. When I was a sprog he did teach me a bit, but I wasn't much interested. Reckon by now it's too late to learn? I'm not old yet, I guess. But one day my da won't be around to make me breakfast and I reckon to be a real adult I'll ought to do more than warm over the last night's curry for breakfast.
