The year is 2022. Since the end of the second wizarding war in 1998, things have steadily begun to change. The Minister of Magic, Kingsley Shacklebolt had inherited a seat full of corruption and lies. Prejudice ran rampant and it seemed that everyone was demanding their comeuppance. It took years, but the ex-auror felt that he'd finally come up with a way to fix his government and the lives of his people. Let it be said that Kingsley was never going to be a saint. As a result of his past, he had just as many prejudices as those around him. Purebloods were on thin ground, and he'd rather they stay there. Laws were passed to give halfbloods and muggleborns 'equal' rights. Jobs that had once been held by the purebloods were opened up for the masses. Hogwarts was given a mandate stating that they must have certain numbers of each type of blood per house. This quest for 'equality,' however, is creating a stir and is, in fact, breaking the world that Kingsley fought so hard to save to pieces. Politics are becoming the talk of the world, sides are being taken. The muggleborns and halfbloods are siding with the Ministry, but the purebloods who are not used to being persecuted, who are not used to having things taken from them, are beginning to draw together. And on top of that, Gordon Brown (the muggle prime minister) believes that he should have a more active role in the wizarding government. Something's rotten in the state of England... Which side will you be on? This is oraculum_nox, and a new type of war is coming. One no one is prepared for. One that no one has ever seen the likes of, and the Wizarding World that everyone knows and loves will never be the same again.. |
