The tournament had been banned in 1792 due to the death toll but after working with the heads of Beauxbatons and Durmstrang a safer tournament was devised. We all know how that one turned out. Fake Moody dropped Harry Potter's name into the Goblet of Fire, Potter and Diggory were picked from the Goblet and both represented Hogwarts. Potter and Diggory both won the tournament but when they touched the cup it turned out to be a portkey. Then Diggory died, Potter saw the re-birth of the Dark Lord and in 1998 the Dark Lord was once again vanquished. Now in 2021 Headmistress Colette Swann worked with the heads of Beauxbatons, Durmstrang, Canadian Institute of Magic and Salem Witches' Institute to bring back what Dumbledore had started and for the same reason. Deaths, births, the rise of a new generation, changes for a better world. The only thing that the wizarding world struggled with was a small uprising started by the children of former Death Eaters. Thankfully, it only took one year to quash it, and luckily only a small number of causalities came from it. In the end the nine members of the uprising were caught, and sentenced for their crimes against the wizarding world. Since then everything started to progress again and over time the wizarding world became slightly more dependent on the muggle world, and with that came change and adaptation. One of these changed came when former Minister Shaklebolt decided that the key to a peaceful future was knowledge. With knowledge came acceptance and progress to maintain a better world. In 2030 Eolas University came the first Wizarding University. Modeled after muggle universities across Britain and Ireland the goal was to educate young witches and wizards preparing them for their career of choices. Everything from Geffory Buttermere College of Medicine, the MacTavish College of Law Enforcement, Goodfellow College of Magical Law, to degrees offered in Magical Zoology, Muggle Studies, a wide array of degrees available for every kind of field in the wizarding world. It is up to this new generation to decide what to do with the knowledge, if they'll use it to follow their dreams, to help wizarding kind, or for their own personal benefit. [12 Sep 2011|11:42pm] 6° of separation 2006. After years of war and rebuilding, Wizarding Great Britain has finally moved on... sort of. Old prejudices still die hard, after all. School rivalries still ring true, pureblood supremecists still hold their ideals close, and muggleborn rights activists still fight for equality. Though we may not get along, like it or not, we're all still connected. Six Degrees has an incredibly active and diverse cast of characters, and our goal with the game is to explore the connections between them, especially the not so obvious ones. Rivalries may always exist, even long after Hogwarts is over, but without those House colors to define you, will you still so quickly judge those you meet? We have been around since mid-December 2010, and have been growing ever since! There aren't complicated game histories to catch up on, and no lengthy reading before you can even think of applying.
