Lupin,

Dear Merlin, Lupin! You didn’t bloody need to ruin the moment by spelling it out in a letter to me. I was there! I know what it was! And I promise you it will never happen again if you insist on making a big deal about what it was or what it meant.

Not to mention that anyone could find this letter. Do you really think I want Minerva elbowing me and smiling at me during breakfast tomorrow or Sybill looking at me with dewy, knowing eyes? Worse, do you think I want Albus Dumbledore to make a big deal about this? You know that he would. And what if one of the students found it? I can already imagine the lack of respect we would incur. You know how students talk even without hard evidence. And this evidence would certainly be hard.

What happens in your office must remain in your office. We do not speak of it and we certainly do not put it in writing and send it with one of the somewhat unreliable school owls. How could you be so foolish, werewolf?

Professor Snape

PS- Please find enclosed one new grading quill. Green, of course
