Part 4 of Sharing
Remus cast two warming charms on his bed before he climbed into it, exhausted. It had been a difficult full moon, blue moons always were. He often wondered if it was real or just imagined, because intellectually he knew that the change came to him twice in the same calendar month. Unhappily, he was out of his usual pain potion so he used something less powerful and his joints let him know they were not pleased. He fluffed his pillow under his neck and pulled up the blankets. Sleep chose not to claim him immediately.
His mind turned that evening's Order meeting over and over again. Sirius demanded the he be released for missions outside the house. Dumbledore cajoled him and told him he must put Harry's needs first. It went on and on for what seemed like an hour without a clear winner. Finally, they moved onto other business, but Remus worried about the initial conversation.
While his mulled over the situation yet again, his bedroom door cracked open and light from a wandtip showed brightly in the darkness. With any luck it wasn't Sirius come to talk, but immediately he smelled someone else.
"Severus?" Remus asked.
"Got it in one, Lupin." Severus drawled as he made his way around the room.
When Severus got to the chest of drawers he laid his wand on top and dug out the nightshirt he'd worn previously. Heavy robes followed by the rest of his clothes, hit the rug with soft thuds.
"What are you doing here?" Fatigue filled Remus' voice.
"I'm going to sleep."
"It's not that late." Remus' words slipped out with thought.
"Budge over." Severus demanded softly. "It's later than you think."
Remus curved himself around Severus contentedly and they both went to sleep.
Severus was, of course, correct and within a few days it was forever too late for Sirius Black.
