Lucius took a deep breath. The night air was filled with so many new odours. Being in a rain forest was nothing like being in Wiltshire or Aquitaine. He considered going for a run and decided against that much exertion.
I will take a nice long walk, get acclimated and see what this area is like.
The chirp of frogs, the rustle of leaves, and the scent of damp leaves were soothing to him.
This is much better than lurking around the castle while my family hosts a house party. The idea of inviting people to a fortress just to celebrate a child's birthday. He froze as something occurred to him. If not for that party, I would never have seen my grandson. Shaking his head, Lucius continued to stroll through the forest.
Something moved between the trees. It was big, much larger than the rodent he'd heard a few moments ago. Lucius jumped up and grabbed a tree branch. He climbed higher just in case the animal could climb. Remaining absolutely still, Lucius watched the forest.
A wolf came into view. It was followed by another wolf. The muzzle shape wasn't quite right.
Lucius sniffed the air. Werewolves, I thought I was free of those. He watched the small pack continue on their way. No infighting, no scars to speak of. Fenrir would be disappointed. It's as if they are lap dogs.
He could sense sunrise was near and decided he should go back to his shelter for the day. While it was possible to tolerate a limited amount of sunshine, Lucius preferred not to risk getting any blemishes.

His beauty rest was disturbed by distant noises. Lucius frowned and grumbled while crawling out of bed. He considered following the sounds and beat sense into those who didn't know what civilized behaviour was.
The least they could do is whisper. I know the sounds would still be carried by the wind, however, it would be much easier to ignore. A vampire does need his rest.
He bundled up in his cloak, put on a wide brimmed hat and hoped no one of importance saw him in this less than fashionable state.
I won't combust. I will have a wicked sunburn. I do not wish to ever have such a burn again. It took forever to heal.
Something glistened ahead of him. Lucius slowed his pace and eased closer to a clearing. He saw creatures playing a game that resembled cricket. These beings sparkled in the sunlight. Lucius made a face and hissed in distaste.
Of course, just my luck. I leave Aquitaine for a nice rest and end up vacationing near fairies. Loud, obnoxious fairies. I should have known better. If there are woods, there will be fairies living in them. One cannot escape them.
Lucius turned his back on the group and made his way to the house he was renting. Since he was awake, he decided to make the best of the situation. A nice wank followed by a shower, or maybe a wank in the shower would improve his day.
