Remus pushed himself up on his elbow when the door latch snicked. He blinked against the lighted wand tip that entered the room, followed by Severus.
"Lupin." Severus called in a stage whisper.
"Yes, Severus."
"Good. Budge over I need some sleep."
"And your bed at Hogwarts is already occupied?"
"No, my bed at Hogwarts is a long, cold walk from Hogsmeade and it is already late." Severus responded as he took off his cloak.
"And the other rooms here?" Remus asked.
"More dilapidated then your own, or occupied, or previously occupied by Gryffindor brats. The Weasley twins have no doubt left there calling card somewhere."
Severus sat on the rickety chair and took off his boots.
"A warming charm, perhaps to help with the chill?" Remus queried.
"Not tonight Lupin." Severus shivered.
"Hexed?" Remus asked somberly.
"I was this evening's entertainment."
"There are nightshirts and pyjama bottoms in the second drawer there. Your clothes are probably cold was well."
Severus gave him a look that he couldn't quite make out. The drawer was flung open and dark-haired man rifled through the contents. "Lupin, you have more nightwear than daywear. It's ridiculous."
Remus chuckled. "I know. People are always giving me pyjamas as gifts so I can be comfortable after the full, but no one ever remembers the other twenty-nine days a month when I actually see people.
"Turn you head. I don't want you gawking." Severus instructed.
"I'd never gawk."
"Oh, excuse me. Devour me with your wolfish gaze then." Severus responded tiredly.
"Just change, Severus. I'll turn away." Remus turned his back.
Clothing rustled and piece after piece made a soft dull sound as they each hit the floor. A softer swish of material followed and the bed dipped on one side. Severus slipped silently under the blankets and shivered.
Remus turned and wrapped an arm around the other man's waist.
Severus stiffened. "Lupin!" He hissed.
"You'll warm up faster." Remus replied simply.
Severus harrumphed. "Just don't try anything funny, I know where my wand is and I know how to use it."
"Wouldn't dream of it, Severus." Remus' grin evident in his voice.
"Of course you would. I'm a spectacular catch stuck, just as I am stuck between a rock and a hard place."
"But you still have your looks." Remus responded.
Severus snorted. "We're both sleep deprived. Time we both get to correcting that."
"Good night, Severus."
"Lupin?"
"Yes, Severus."
"Werewolves are warm." Was the sleep laden whispered reply.
