Severus shivered slightly in the golden-pink sunrise. They stood within the columns of The Tholos in Delphi. In rented chitons, not so different from rented formalwear in the Muggle world he thought. His scars still stood out vividly on his pale throat. He took another look at the fibula on his shoulder that held his chiton together. Remus had insisted on purchasing them so they could have a memento of the occasion. Apparently, wedding rings and a marriage license did not constitute mementos. His fibula was a bronze color with green and blue stones that reminded him of the sea.
The sage that was overseeing their ceremony began. Ancient words, binding words changed for a different age. He could feel the magic energy ebb and flow as they each responded in carefully, hastily learned Greek. The rocks vibrated and warmed with the old magic. Soon, a shower of sparks showered down upon them and the ceremony was over.
Severus blinked as he attempted to clear his mind. Remus handed the sage his fee and then grasped Severus' hand.
"Breakfast I think."
"Tea." Severus answered still certain his brain was slightly scrambled.
"I brought coffee. It's hot, strong and full of caffeine." Remus picked up a parcel from near one of the columns. "Herbal tea just wasn't enough. I have rolls, butter and cheese as well. I thought we might eat over there before the tourists descend." He pointed to a spot with a few squared stones.
"And the consummation?" Severus asked his cheeks pink with more than the rising sun.
Remus smiled lasciviously. "Why do you think we need breakfast?"
