Severus pulled back startled.  “What the hell was that, Lupin?”

“A kiss naturally.”  Remus grinned slyly.  “Or have you forgotten what they’re like?”

“Of course it was a kiss, but why?  Why me?  Why here?”

“Why not? Besides your smart, snarky and sexy as hell.”

“What would give you any indication that I desired such a thing?”

Remus’ grin got bigger.  “Because you watch me.  Closely.”

“Of course I watch you, you’re a werewolf.  You’re dangerous.”

“But you don’t watch me only around the full.  You watch all the time.”

“You are dangerous all the time.”  Severus huffed.

“To whom?”

Severus changed his tactic.  “I never invited that sort of familiarity.  Why would you do something like that without asking?

“Because I would have heard: Lupin, I don’t swing that way, your friends were arseholes when we went to school, or you’re a beast.”

“Those are all valid reasons.” Severus scoffed.

“I noticed you are still here talking to me.”

“That could change at any moment.” 

“I also noticed you haven’t hexed me.” The grin came back to Remus’ face.

“Well…I…you see…”

“Come on, give the werewolf a whirl.”  Remus waggled his eyebrows.  “I’ll make it worth your while.”

“I believe it’s customary to buy the object of your intentions a drink or a meal.”

“Do you want a drink or a meal?” 

“I suppose not, for efficiencies sake.  You can buy me dinner if the outcome is satisfactory.” 

Remus’ face lit up.  “I can promise it will be more than satisfactory.”

“We will see, won’t we wolf.”  Severus had Remus exactly where he wanted him.
