Title: Peek-a-boo, I see you. Characters: Hermione and a surprise character for Hermione and Donnaimmaculata Rating: G Disclaimer: I do not own any part of Harry Potter. Summary: Despite Hermione’s boredom with haunted houses, she receives a delightful Halloween surprise. Notes: I hope that you enjoy this Donnaimmaculata.
Hermione ripped through the magical spider’s webs and sighed. She was appalled at herself for allowing Harry and Ron to talk her into this, but their promises that the seventh years would outdo their predecessors had been too tempting a theory to disprove.
Every year, the seventh years constructed what each graduating class swore was the scariest, most elaborate haunted house anyone would ever see. Every year, their respective haunted houses elicited only the barest fright from Hermione. After her fourth year, she’d sworn off the wretched disappointments altogether.
This year, all she’d gotten was lost. Mummies chased her, werewolves clawed after her, ghosts howled, and chains rattled, but it all earned a yawn. It was dreadfully easy to see through the costumes and the magic.
As she shook the strands of cobwebs from her hands, Hermione turned to leave the dead-end she’d landed in. Mid-turn, she bumped into a mat of twisted fur. Hermione pressed her palms against the scratchy mass and it gave a startled yelp in return.
She huffed and relieved her furry companion of their mask. Although confused, she could only laugh as Seamus muttered an explanation.
“I thought that we were supposed to wear costumes.”
