Halloween in the Pumpkin Patch
“Lovegood?” Draco walked slowly around the witch, peering at her. “Everyone is looking for you. The Headmaster wants everyone inside.”
“Oh.” She looked up at him blankly, and patted the pumpkin next to the one she was sitting on. “Join me, it may be fun.”
Draco looked around the field and back to her with a look of disgust. “I’ll stand.”
“You’re no fun,” she pouted. “Harry was more fun last year than you are being.”
“Lovegood, I didn't find you for fun, I was ordered.”
“That’s what Harry said last year.”
“Why are you sitting here?” His upper lip curled, showing his distaste in the situation.
“It is more comfortable than the cabbage Harry and I tried.”
“Cabbage?”
“I read a Muggle story that said they get babies in cabbage patches. Did you know that?” She looked up quizzically. “Last year Harry and I stayed all night in the cabbage patch trying to find one so this year I thought to try here.”
Draco looked at her, back up at the castle and back to her.
“You may be right,” he said thickly, as he sat on the pumpkin next to her, and draped his arm around her shoulder.
