Title: Morning Fog Pairing: Remus Lupin/Severus Snape Rating: PG Summary: Remus and Severus greet the morning in different ways. Or, not everybody is a morning person.
Morning Fog
Remus woke up shivering. At first, he just grumbled sleepily to himself. Why did Severus always have to slide out from under the blankets in such a way as to perfectly expose Remus’s toes? That didn't bother him so much in summer, but autumn mornings got bloody cold. Of course — and he said this to himself in Severus's voice — "Any home- schooled hedge witch can do a heating charm." But that wasn't the point. Having a lie-in wasn't about being clever. It was a time for slow, unthinking pleasures, like the warm and sleepy embrace of your lover's body.
Wait, where was Severus?
Remus threw on his robe and went looking through the empty house. He found him standing outside. "Look," Severus said quietly. "The air is sparkling. It's almost better than magic." Sure enough, the fog was shimmering with an impossible silver light. It was also cold, wet, and not their bed.
Still, Remus could work with this. "There are other things that are better than magic," he whispered as he nipped lightly at Severus's pale neck.
Severus froze, words lost in a ragged breath. They were definitely going back to bed, though a lazy morning was unlikely.
