Title: Second Chances Pairing: Harry Potter/Draco Malfoy Rating: PG-13 Summary: Harry and Draco take a break from the crowds at the Ministry Samhain Ball. Notes: I hope you enjoy this, Leontinabowie. Happy Halloween!
You find Potter at Godric's Hollow, breathing in deep lungfuls of air and watching the stars.
“Aren’t you supposed to be entertaining?”
“I just need a breather.” Potter sips his drink and doesn’t look at you. His laissez-faire attitude makes you roll your eyes. Only Potter would leave a Ministry Ball to spend the evening in a graveyard.
“Me, too.” You’re here to find Potter, but he doesn’t need to know that.
His breath is warm and sweet with alcohol and his lips curve in a lazy smile. “Whenever I want to avoid people, you’re always around.”
You snort. “Hardly.”
“You are,” Potter insists. His words catch on the autumn breeze and his fingers graze your arm. “Do you ever think about it?”
You nod. It’s painful trying to forget when Potter was Harry. It's still harder to admit how alive you feel in these stolen moments, underneath the stars and flanked by the dead.
“Yeah,” Potter says. “Me, too.”
The distance between you closes, and you say I’m sorry in the only way you can. Restless, urgent kisses replace a thousand unspoken words.
With every ragged sigh comes another I miss you, and when Harry kisses you back, it’s everything you’ve been waiting to hear.
