Title: Out Of The Ordinary Pairing: Harry/Ginny Rating: G Disclaimer: All Harry Potter characters herein are the property of J.K. Rowling and Bloomsbury/Scholastic. I just take them out to play with them and then put them back after. Summary: Harry's Halloweens have never been ordinary. Can Ginny show him how Halloween is supposed be?
Things tended to happen to Harry on Halloween. Trolls defeated, chambers opened, age lines magically crossed, parents murdered - all on Halloween nights. Maybe that's why he was so reluctant to go out that evening.
But Ginny was excited and she was grabbing his hand so determinedly. Harry knew she wasn't taking no for an answer, so he followed behind her, allowing her to drag him out of the confines of the Leaky Cauldron and into Diagon Alley.
The streets were beautifully lit. Candles had been enchanted to float in the air and spooky charmed pumpkins called out from the sides of the roads with fiery eyes. The smell of pumpkin pasties and other delicious goodies wafted out of shop windows. Harry couldn't help his jaw dropping.
Ginny grinned triumphantly. "See, I told you! Halloween's pretty neat. Nothing out of the ordinary, just lots of fun. Isn't it beautiful?"
Harry nodded in silent agreement, smiling, but his eyes were fixed on her and the way the warm sparkle of candlelight seemed caught in her brazen brown eyes.
Ginny was mistaken. Something out of the ordinary did happen that Halloween. Harry realised he was head over heals in love with her.
