Notes: This is a gift for slytheringurrl and I really hope she likes it. First time I've written anything in a while so my fingers are crossed. :)
"I don't know why you insist upon doing this the Muggle way, Hermione. I finished mine over an hour ago," Draco hollered from inside the house.
Hermione glanced up to glare at him over the pumpkin she was busily carving into a creepy jack-o'-lantern. Her glare might have been effective had she not been completely covered in pumpkin guts. Instead Draco just laughed at her and the long string of pumpkin seeds hanging from her wild hair.
"Because, Draco," she sneered. "Some things are just better when done by hand. See?"
She turned the pumpkin around to show him the masterpiece she had made. It was, by Muggle standards, a very nice jack-o'-lantern.
"I think that we have different definitions of the word 'better' Hermione," Draco chuckled before turning his own, magically carved pumpkin around.
It was truly a work of art. Glowing several bright colors and vomiting neon green slime, it floated itself right off the table and into Hermione's face. She screamed and toppled over into the pile of pumpkin goo that she had set to the side.
"Fine! You win!" She sighed, reluctantly admitting that maybe some things were better with magic.
