12:36 am - [info]upuaut - Oh, yeah!

Arrived safe, everything's great.

Got a sunburn; it's gone now. Just getting a snack.

Love to all.

Well, the eldest is married and off on his honeymoon, and the rest of us are still recovering from the party. For something that came together so quickly, I thought it went off remarkably well. Luna looked positively radiant, and the look on Bill's face when she appeared out of the house was truly priceless. Despite my initial doubts, they're a good match. They can challenge each other intellectually and they're obviously very much in love. Perhaps Bill's example might tempt Charlie and Elle to the alter...

The evening was notable both for who was there as well as who wasn't. I never thought I'd see the day that Severus Snape and Sirius Black sat at the same table and had a civil conversation, even if it was well lubricated with alcohol. But the absence of Ron and Ginny...

I took Ginny to the Paradise Spa yesterday afternoon. It was a new one for us, and it was quite luxurious and relaxing, but I can't help but feel as if I've failed my little girl. I ought to have sat down and written an owl instead of tossing off a floo call every few weeks and hoping I would catch her. She's hurting, and given her history with Luna she has every right to. I wish I knew how to help her get past that. Rehashing it certainly won't help; I may as well take a scalpel to a raw wound. But neither can she just ignore the past; that only works until something comes up to throw it in her face again, as the wedding proved. Perhaps I ought to talk with Poppy or Severus; maybe there's something that might help.

And Ron... Arthur and I visited him this morning, and I must remember to have words with his healers. He struck me as very quiet and depressed, and not at all in a mental state to be recovering from his previous mental state. I realize that these things take time, but I don't want him thinking that he'll be spending the rest of his days in St. Mungo's. If he does that, he'll never get out.
