Dear Mrs Turnbull,

You said that if I thought I needed any advice before our next meeting I should just write and ask and so I am. My brother has a lot of faith in you and I'm sure it's the kind of thing he'd be right about. And I know that what I write to a solicitor is private and this is meant to be confidential like that, even though I'm just wanting to clarify some things.

Assuming that we win in March and the Wizengamot confirms that Harry and I have joint custody of Lily then I want to be sure that there wouldn't be any chance of changing that if something came up later. You know I'm an Auror, and it's not safe work, not even right now when there's no war and no one seems to think there's much trouble brewing. Some people think I'm too cautious but a lot of people got away during and after the last war, a lot of dangerous people. Anyway, it doesn't even have to be that. It's a tricky kind of job. As I already said I did get into some trouble in the war because sometimes you think it's best to take actions other people don't think are right at the time even if later they're glad your did. So what I need to be sure is that when this case is settled it's settled even if I, say, had to go to war again and even if I, say, was reprimanded by the Ministry again.

Let's say if I got sent to prison, which is the most extreme thing I can think of, I'd still have joint custody with Harry, right? And what happened to Lily, where she lived and so on and what her name was, that would still be up to me and Harry? What I mean is, if they say I definitely have custody now it can't be taken away from me, can it? It'd all be over and done with?

Thanks for your advice,
Ron Weasley

Dear Mr Weasley,

As I said the other evening, the case as I have reviewed it is firmly in your favour. Unfortunately, winning this case does not eliminate the possibility of another case being brought forward in the future.

I would like to remind you that in all of these scenarios, someone must bring a case before the Wizengamot or notify the authorities of neglect or abuse, in which case the Ministry is able to investigate and remove your daughter if the need is found. All of this is speculative, of course, and highly unlikely. Worst case scenarios really require effort to occur. The best defence against all of this is to be as good a parent as you possibly can, remain lawful and civil, remain on good terms with Mr Potter, and know your rights. I am confident with all of these elements that you have nothing to fear from a hearing before the Wizengamot.

Sincerely,

Mavis Turnbull

KRUM JOINS HARPIES LINEUP
First male Harpy since club's founding

Holyhead, WALES - International Quidditch star Viktor Krum, formerly of the World Cup champion Bulgarian National Quidditch team, has signed with Welsh club the Holyhead Harpies. Krum will take the position of Seeker as Gwen Griffiths is sidelined on Healer's orders.

Practice for the upcoming season began at the beginning of February; Krum's first training session was this past Monday. Gloriana Dawkins, Harpies captain, said Krum "sits a broom well for a bloke, and we're looking forward to showing the rest of the League exactly what the idiots turned down."

The Harpies have historically been an all-women's club; however, Harpies manager Gwenog Jones says an unprecedented exception was made for Krum. "He's everything we'd hoped he'd bring to the club," Jones said, "and we're proud to show our support for witches and wizards throughout Britain facing discrimination based on sexual orientation."

Krum lives in London with his partner Ronald Weasley, an Auror and recipient of the Order of Merlin, 3rd class.

Krum's first match with the Harpies will be Saturday, 21 February against the Pride of Portree.

The Holyhead Harpies are a Premiere League club playing in the British and Irish Quidditch League. The club was founded in 1203 and is the second oldest Quidditch team in Britain and Ireland.
