I do hope that your year has started well. I was hoping that with the start of the new year, that you might have discovered that you do feel that you need to talk to someone, and I want you to know, that if you have, that I am still here and interested in what you have to say. There is a certain malaise that can descend on one during this time of year and when dealing with difficult issues it can become immeasurably worse.

As always, I will make myself available to speak with you should you need to. Please keep that mind.

Just to let you know I can't make it to dinner. Something's come up *a squiggle and a blot*, bit of a plumbing issue. Helping a friend take care of it and don't know how long I'll be. Especially when people are reading over my shoulder and *another squiggle*

Hope you're well, and everyone. I'm great. *a line from the quill running off the parchment*

Come on. She's still a quarter-hour before she has to be in bed and she ate all that treacle tart George gave her at dinner, bastard that he is. Running around in the lane for five minutes will wear her out. ( I'll be down there with her. )

Everything all right there with the plumbing? Sounds a bit... dangerous. Need any help? Not that I'm good with plumbing, but I might be able to help. Unless you've got everything well in hand, which is posible. You did quite the job when the cellar flooded.

Your Mum is out of the country, working, so I was in charge of dinner tonight. It didn't turn out like I expected it to, so I had to go down to the pub to pick something up. Fred and George had a good laugh over it. Yeah, they stopped by this week. It was really rather brilliant! Well, except for the burnt food. What does one do with burnt food? Not good to banish something that's still steaming, right? Or to toss it into the rubbish bin. I should probably wait for it to cool and then toss it in the rubbish bin. Seems a sad waste though. Your Mum never would have burnt dinner.

Your Mum wants you to know that she loves you, and since I'm passing such on, anyway... Kitty and Agatha say hello. You remember Agatha, right? Your Mum's partner. I'm sure you remember Kitty. Oh! And how are things progressing with Berger? It's not her who is having plumbing problems, I hope. Oh, it couldn't be, you'd be in Peru and I never would have heard from you before dinner. Fleur? Still keeping in touch with her, are you?

Your Mum won't be gone long, I hope. Just a few days.

Sorry, bit distracted here. I think we've fixed it, but a few things still need to be tested. And a few positions....

*a squiggle* And this'll go faster if you stop doing that Good to hear Fred and George were there. They should have been able to tell you all about burnt food, yeah? Just banish it while it's still smoking or you'll never get the smell out of the curtains. Can't be helped. Mum's a brilliant cook.

I didn't mean completely! *a streak of ink* Fleur is good, might be coming to London for work. Didn't I mention that? Glad to hear Mum won't be gone long. Let me know if you need anything, yeah?
