[info]beholder_mod: FIC: "Fostering Witch-Muggle Understanding" for songquake

Recipient: songquake
Author: [info]slytherite
Title: Fostering Witch-Muggle Understanding
Rating: PG-13
Pairings: Hestia Jones/Petunia Dursley, background Vernon Dursley/Petunia Dursley
Word Count: 13,848
Warnings/Content Information (Highlight to View): * Adultery in a dying marriage, homophobia, a few swears, and strongly implied sex. *.
Summary: One can learn a lot from a freak, Hestia Jones discovers, if one is willing to take the time to listen.
Author's Notes: Songquake requested plot, canon compliance, homo/bisexuality, and collisions between the wizarding and Muggle worlds; the last prompt was absolutely irresistible, particularly when Petunia poked her nose into it. Hopefully I’ve done it justice here.
I’d like to thank bethbethbeth for running this fantastic fest, my fandom-unaffiliated sister for telling me that "whirly blades" is not nearly as mellifluous a phrase as I’d thought (and giving me a much-needed prod to finish), and J.K. Rowling for making the whole thing possible.

Warnings/Content Information (Highlight to View): *alcohol abuse, addiction issues, physical violence*.
Summary: After being arrested and sentenced to a Community Order, Dudley finds help in unexpected places.
Author's Notes: [info]catbirdfish said she liked many things that appealed to me, including character study, imperfections, characters undergoing a change or maturing emotionally, and redemption arcs and, thus, this story was born. Many thanks to my betas and my brit-picker and to [info]bethbethbeth for giving characters like Dudley a chance to shine.

The section titles, except for the first one, come from a non-denominational version of the twelve steps, and the story title comes from the twelfth tradition.

[info]beholder_mod: FIC: "Chronic Charm of the Grotesque" for luciusmistress

Recipient: luciusmistress
Author: [info]injustice_worth
Title: Chronic Charm of the Grotesque
Rating: PG/PG-13
Pairings: John Dawlish/Alecto Carrow
Word Count: 4915
Warnings/Content Information (Highlight to View): *I’m… not exactly certain? Pardons… Not much made explicit; any warning’d be more in the suggestions and general content, then perhaps for knives and a bit of blood…*.
Summary: Dawlish finds himself compelled to renew an old acquaintanceship, and rediscovers the joy of knives.
Author's Notes: Dawlish just gets himself into all kinds of trouble with the ladies. Tsk. This hazes (in potentially suspect fashion) through time, present being at some point during DH, ranging back to Dawlish and Alecto’s schooldays. To the one known as the Mistress o’ the Lucius, grazie for the very-open prompt, and hope this isn’t too far afield (sorry ’bout the lack of sexy-sexy, in particular). Suppose I owe apologies to Amycus, who was going to be much more involved than he is; that’d be part of a longer story, I suppose, and he’ll have to deal. ON ANOTHER NOTE. The line from “Black No. 1” more or less sparked much of this, but The 69 Eyes’ “Sleeping with Lions” would probably be a more apt song for the pair, overall. Just sayin’.
