Thank you so much, Mystery Author! What an action-packed read. And oh, poor Snape - all efficient and stealthy at first and finally cracking under pressure. And then there's his dilemma whether to run for safety or go back to help Moody - and of course Snape has to do the right thing.
Moody in full Auror mode is a joy to read. You can really see that he's a great Auror, with skills and perseverance, but Snape is more than a match for him. Fighting among equals is a major kink of mine, so thank you for that.
I like how you made Moody so caring: Snape and Moody are such a fascinating pairing with so much history, and having them trust each other is so bittersweet, because we know, of course, that Moody will die and his knowledge of Snape's role will die with him. I also like his pragmatic approach: "As you say, it couldn't make things any worse" - too right, Alastor! If in doubt, shagging Snape won't hurt. I LOLed at Snape being all smug about making Moody pass out. And the fake eye's happy dance is an image that will stay with me for quite some time.
Thanks again for braving to tackle this pairing, which isn't an easy one but offers so many delightful possibilities.
