Harry would make an excellent Dark wizard, himself, Viktor thought. He had the sophistry to deceive without lying, which was Snape's stock in trade.
Wonderfully rich and in character. There's so much to love about this story: I love Viktor's difficulty with the language and his brief sideways self-evaluations about tone and idiom; I love the Harry-Severus subplot and Viktor's observations of the inevitable struggle; I love his position as observer of the fallout from history that isn't his, and how he makes connections with the history that is. Who knew that Viktor was so deep and perceptive? Lovely.
