I'm always fond of stories that weave believably around canon, and you do an excellent job of that here, right down to the Dawlish story. You've developed both characters so well -- very much in keeping with what we know in canon, and yet so much more interesting and complex. I like that you make Augusta a real person, for instance, going beyond the vulture-hat canon caricature. I like the understated, believable way that you show each woman's pains and strengths; I like the parallel structure.
Very well done! I adore HP old-lady femmeslash, and this story is a highlight. (Love the Minerva bits, too.)
