A lovely story. I love fics that deal with post-war prejudice and the quieter, subtler pains of surviving a war-- not just the showy scars and losses. Viktor is amazing, love his patience and strength and focus. And Percy breaks my heart. I love his slow reveal, the secret pain he's hiding, the vulnerability, the unsureness, the strength that so many miss hidden behind the too-skinny waiflike body and delicate features. The revelation of why he couldn't go inside was wonderful-- surprising and realistic. A beautiful story.
