How I love this wonderful insecure and broken Percy. It makes sense that he ends up where he is. Charlie's care for him rings true; to me Charlie comes out as a person who Percy might trust; Charlie doesn't seem like the bullying type to me, like the twins and the parents who just ignore the treatment that Percy was exposed to during his time in the Weasley household. I found it very touching that Charlie had seen through Percy's defences.
And in comes Viktor... an assertive, secure Viktor, so confident in what he does, utterly indifferent to what other people might think of him.
Tugging on the handkerchief, pulling it taut, Percy changed the subject. "Do you miss who you were? Playing Quidditch, I mean. The Prophet still talks about it, you know. As if it's quite a comedown for you, flying after dragons rather than the Snitch."
"Dragons are harder to catch."
That says all that is necessary about Viktor. He does what he likes, takes what he wants, dragons, Quidditch or Percy. And his careful wooing, this gentle pursuit of the Snitch Percy is so very much in character. He's relentless, but he doesn't make a fuss. Perfect.
Roger Davies was a brilliant idea. I love how Viktor and he are on their toes around Percy all the time. And of course Davies is in over his head. Being the best Seeker in the world, he certainly doesn't have what it takes, although it was indeed amusing to see him try. :D I love how possessive they both were. Percy needs more men fighting over him! Good for the self-esteem.
Viktor's last line, Viktor ran a thumb over Percy's lips. "I would banish the roof for you. Let the stars rain down upon us." was so adoringly beautiful. What a way to declare one's love.
Thank you, secret author, for writing me this lovely, calm tale of love and comfort. I hadn't really considered this pairing before, but it worked very well; Viktor certainly is man enough to handle someone like Percy. It was wonderful story.
