As he led her towards his bedroom, he gave a silent thanks to whichever Catapults' Beater had hit that Bludger into his thick skull. It had clearly knocked some sense into him as well as some incredibly good luck. He would have to remember to send them a thank you note.
I loved this bit of wisdom flashing in Greg's head! He's still himself but a little bit brighter and a bit smarter than he was before.
What I really enjoyed about this was how you captured both characters - warts, scars and all - and made them likeable. The ties back to canon and Marietta betraying the DA, what she'd suffered and living with the shame of it. An outstanding job of making her truly a better character than she was.
This is a lovely fic and what this fest is all about. Finding the beauty in the eye of the beholder. Great job, mystery author!
