Aw, Augusta Longbottom as a gruff Gryffindor on a rescue mission!
I love how slowly this builds, the quiet acceptance Augusta has for Alastor, the high regard he has for her (and her ward-making. CONSTANT VIGILANCE!). And the details of their other relationships--how Griselda calls Augusta a "kitchen witch" and how even his friends don't call Alastor by his first name--really fill their characters so much. We can infer so much from the details.
