Oh, how I loved this. Amazing opening line promised it would be fantastic, and you definitely lived up to that! I really enjoyed the structure and the lyricism of the prose. I loved each little vignette and how clearly and practically she categorizes and views each of her lovers. The reasoning and the emotion. I was proud of her for forgoing more Rosmerta, who clearly didn't appreciate her. And the part with Flitwick touched my heart dearly. I particularly liked the bit about living the life she'd dreamed of for one instead of two. And Argus being Sundays, which she can't give up? SQUEE. YES. I love his bumbling sweetness, his desire to spoon and treat her unfailingly like the lady he sees her as, and all of it without detracting from the rough, brusque, grouchy character we know from canon.
