yes! god, yes. i loved the clever clever plot - and the characters! victor and magda (i was so strongly put in mind of john and joan cusack in grosse pointe blank - is that weird?) - and how brilliant that magda characterised the snitch as a woman (i laughed so much) and your wonderful not-so-mysterious man who called himself David Yalçin, tiring finally of his hermetic idyll. that's how i love him best - awful in his pessimistic self-deception, but ultimately inclined to take a last-ditch leap of faith. <3
i think what i loved most about this fic, though, was the utter originality of the politics that you extrapolate: the grindelwaldians insidiously re-emerging in europe, and revealed to us through those wonderfully evoked cuttings, while in the uk we've been so obsessed with riddle; and the brilliantly evolved vocabulary - sanguinists, mundanes, "of ability". it's so completely convincing and involving, and so so much richer and more insightful than canon.
