Believe me, I'd much rather have 1000 superb words (as yours are) than 5000 mediocre ones. The fact that you managed to write at all, what with "the breaking of this and that," is impressive, and that you wrote so well, in more than one fest -- well, it's more than impressive. Your gift was one of the standouts of the fest for me, one of the best Dolores characterizations I've read.
