I knew I'd like this from the very beginning. Hagrid catching someone peeing on Dumbledore's grave and spanking them and the fact Draco would be that someone, is just so oddly canon.
I really love how the line about just letting what happened go reflects the changes Draco has been going through, his growth throughout school and the war.
The idea of Snape listening to operas/operettas would go wrong in the wrong hands, but you handled it expertly. I really enjoyed that look at what helped him relax and kept him going.
The tension between Draco and Snape was amazing.
Draco is so the type to pretend to be in detention to spend time with a professor. And I do think it sounds like Lucius for them to groom the horses themselves. And I love how Draco loved doing that, and the fact Snape named a horse Tenebrus.
Some of my favorite lines: - “It's funny!” he accuses, looking at Snape in surprise. - “He would not,” Snape answers, looking up at Draco sharply. - Draco looks at the gramophone incredulously. “But, this is beautiful.” - “Yer jus' like he was, as a studen'. Neither one of yeh knowin' a thing about yerself.” - Draco thinks he hears a hundred portraits, collectively drawing in their nonexistent breath. - “He left me – He left me his fucking opera.”
