Oh, this is delightful -- thank you so much! I must admit, though I threw out the possibility of Umbridge/Aunt Marge in my signup, I wasn't really expecting anyone to go with it. So imagine how thrilled I was to see it written! And then there's Millicent/Myrtle on the side! *glee*
This story just has so many things I enjoy: unappealing characters becoming appealing without having their nastiness glossed over, great touches of humour (better 'late' than never, ha), villains in love, and a fascinating exploration of what a human/ghost relationship would be like. I also like how both of the relationships are about finding someone who understands you -- seeing yourself in the other person, if you will -- and that this might mean you could fall in love with someone who's 'beneath' you.
"Now then, one must bring in new bloodlines, certainly, BUT… they must be quality bloodlines. Pure bloodlines, bloodlines that adhere strictly to the standards of the breed, don’t you agree?"
"I knew you would," Marjorie said quietly, "I knew you were my sort of woman the moment I laid eyes on you…"
I love how you manage to make this conversation both creepy and sort of adorable at the same time. *g*
Thank you so much again, Mystery Author! I really love my gift. <3
