"A combination of all sorts of weirdness"
And a perfect combination of 'weirdness' at that. I honestly cannot tell you how happy this has made me.
Firstly -- Rabastan. I have to tell you, I'm seriously fanning myself here. He is so incredibly mixed up, so incredibly mad, and so incredibly hot. I love your take on him, which is refreshing and just guh, so lovely.
One of my favourite parts is:
And worse yet, the aesthetic in him demands perfection and beauty in even these sloping blocks of stone; though his idea of art is certainly a far cry different than that of mainstream Britain (wash the blood off your hands and come to dinner, son). Stir-crazy from the solitude, he begins to imagine such works thrown together within his own cell, broken bodies to bring a little bit of colour to the drab grey of his world - and always, always, there in the middle of them is the crouching figure of the Boy Who Lived.
^Which is twisted, and sums things up beautifully. I also especially enjoyed the Fourth and the last section (poor Harry -- ouch, but definitely a satisfying ouch at that).
You wrote this so well and so beautifully, it's incredibly artistic indeed, and flows so well. I feel like some of Rabastan's madness has even rubbed off on me (which is a good thing of course). Very twisted and simply wonderful. I really like this pairing, and I'm happy you wrote it. Thank you.
p.s. (And I certainly don't mind the extra Rod in there ;])
