Millicent lurve!
This is seriously awesome! I love your Millicent, with her individuality and stubbornness. And yes, her Slytherin ability to find a solution to every problem!
Love your Blaise; and it is so awesome to see a well-rounded (er, so to speak) characterization of Sinistra! All your background details are so creative and enrich this story immeasurably. I'd read it just for the wonderful start of Millicent's romance with Blaise. But I'll treasure it for your depiction of the friendship between the group of Slytherins, which is the kind of postwar (or hell, prewar) scenario that always adds in every possible way.
Ditto for the tryst between Minerva and Sinistra, especially with Minerva starting out all buttoned up! LOL.
And all the countless wonderful, magical details - a;sdlfjkasdfajfds; SO UTTERLY AWESOME.
Mill's Animagus form and her determination to control it.
Sinistra's fascination with reptiles SHE IS SO SLYTHERIN.
The body-size issues and acceptance! *\o/*
The owl collision and the rain of coins OMG I CAN SO SEE THIS!
Sunday In The Park With GeorgeHouse-Elves banging their heads on the shiny park railing. What a picture! This partakes of the total eccentric humor of JKR's world-building at its finest.
Also, the Lover's Lane as Wizarding Space IS SUCH LOVE. Especially what Blaise sees as appropriate, vs. what Millicent settles on. (Foreshadowing their relationship, no doubt! MAKE HIM WORK FOR IT GIRL, YOU DESERVE IT!) Your Lovers Lane is another detail that coulda, should, oughta be in canon! It will show up in further fanon, I'll bet. And hope!
And of course, Skeeter. *eyeroll* 'Nuff said!
All in all, I'm in love! One of the few fics in months that I've gone straight back to re-read, and re-read again for the flavor and the sizzle - for the great depictions of wizards I care about and see too little of - for the fun and also the serious considerations interwoven through them - and simply for the pleasure of the witty, creative writing.
(Ok, some points off for Snape being dead cos for me it's not HP without Snape; and for a couple of glaring beta failures-to-catch; but hey, in the greater scheme of things? THIS ROCKS!!! *goes back to read and enjoy all over again*)
