Additional Likes and Dislikes
I like complex characterisations, lonely and/or inexperienced people finding unexpected happiness, creative use of magic, humour, intertextuality, world-building, characters being loved despite all their flaws, villain!pairings (as in, both characters are 'evil'), stories that challenge the books' view of good guys and bad guys (for instance, I'd prefer to see Rufus Scrimgeour written as a sympathetic character), banter, snark, and understated romance.
I dislike prettified characters, sappy romance, over-the-top angst, epithets/descriptors (please use names or pronouns), next-gen kids and interview characters, sex-god!Snape, and porn without characterisation. (But otherwise? Just write what makes you happy, and I'm sure it will make me happy, too.)
