Back for a proper comment. This is such a lovely, thoughtful, moody fic, mystery author--written with the impassivity of the stone-cold, age-old castle but also cognizant of the way its two inhabitants are looking for meaning in the wake of trauma. I love the way you balance the short term and long--memories of the founders with observations about the present--and keep the relationship wordless--both strategies give this story this a quiet tone and sense of perspective I haven't seen elsewhere. And the architecture! *loves* Thank you so much! Maggie
Also, to both the author and our mod--this came on my last day of classes--a perfect gift for me at the end of the year. Thank you!
