I'm here on svartalfur's rec. I saw this story pop up on the comm yesterday and bookmarked it, but when he recced it, I decided to read it now instead of waiting.
I'm so glad that I did. Eileen's characterization was perfect - I loved her shields melting, one by one, until she became herself again. But I think I fell in love with the house even more - such a subtly drawn character, yet it seemed to me that its reflective personality was a very large factor in allowing for so much healing to take place. A lovely story. Thank you.
