This was so touching and so beautiful. It really worked. It felt so real.
"He - that - Dumbledore. He said Lily had d-died to save Harry. That she was very brave, and that she'd sacrificed her life to save a little boy's, and perhaps a lot of other people's, too. He said she needn't have died." It came out almost as a wail, and she took a deep breath. "It wasn't just everyone else who loved her, you see. I did, as well, she was the only family I had left in the world, but magic took her away, and I tried to follow, but I - I couldn't. I didn't understand." She breathed hard again and again, vainly trying to control herself. "I lost her the day she started school, but I always loved her, and then...to hear she'd thrown her life away." She shook her head. "I couldn't bear to look at him. I know it wasn't his fault, but every time I looked into his eyes it was like a slap in the face." This part made me cry!
Petunia really seemed to grow up a lot, as did Dudley.
