What a fantastic insight into Antonin Dolohov. Poor kid. Not just at the start of the story. He is never really allowed to grow up and develop, is he? You've made his situation so bleak, but his moments of hope and human contact shine bright within that. I love stories like this which explain the actions of minor characters in canon, particularly apparently mindlessly evil characters like Antonin. Narcissa is thoroughly adorable, and Draco, Igor and Fabian are all very well developed and drawn, too. Poor Igor, I have a lot of pity for him anyway, and you've really tugged at that here.
