Emmeline is fast becoming one of my favorite characters, thanks to stories like this one. You flesh her out in such appealing and poignant ways. I like the way you address the sorts of problems that professional women can face in their personal lives, and I think you made an excellent choice to end the story on such a lovely, positive image, despite the fact that we know what futures await them both. The flashback structure works very well, as do the cameos of all the funeral characters. An excellent read; thank you!
