This! This line right here just epitomizes your excellent Alastor for me; you have quite a few moments that really nail him. For instance, his thoughts about long hair might at first come across as a stereotype of an aging man shaking his head over "kids these days." But then you move in for the perfect Alastor touch: Long hair was a safety risk. Of course it is! Great character moment. I really enjoy the way you've characterized both him and Tonks; their dialogue just crackles, and I fancy I can hear them utter each line. They are an unlikely couple, true, but I'd like to think they could work.
