I love your descriptions of the architecture and atmosphere of Beauxbatons--I wish I could visit! Your descriptive skill extends much farther, though--into the human dimension of relationships and emotions and memory--and I found myself absolutely captivated. Your story is lush with concrete details that flesh out your world wonderfully, and the little nods to canon (like Horace's consideration of a mustache and Xenophilius being out fishing for plimpies when his parents were killed) tie everything together in a very satisfying way. Also, I think I fell in love with Xenophilius for these quotes alone: he would far rather tread his own unbeaten path than merge with the crowd, however smart the crowd appeared to be. Especially then, in fact, he added, bullishly. and "A little eccentricity never hurt anyone."
