This is not a pairing I would have ever expected to enjoy reading, but this story is so delicately written that it was a pleasure to read. The characters of Neville and Minerva ring true to canon (along with all the other professors and students who make appearances along the way). As the story unfolds and we see Neville maturing into the hero Rowling gives us at the end of Deathly Hallows, the choices feel natural. The ending was bittersweet, but I choose to think that this interlude will be a treasured memory.
